About

Kat Tumblin Green, PhD, ABPP is a licensed, board certified clinical psychologist in the state of Utah. She graduated Summa Cum Laude from Brigham Young University with a B.S. in psychology and then received her Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from Brigham Young University with an emphasis in children and adolescents. She completed an APA-accredited doctoral internship at Cypress-Fairbanks Independent School District, following which she completed a two-year postdoctoral fellowship at Texas Children’s Hospital and Baylor College of Medicine, where she specialized in assessment and intervention for childhood anxiety, OCD, ADHD and disruptive behavior disorders.

Following her fellowship, Dr. Green joined the faculty as an Assistant Clinical Professor of Psychology at Brigham Young University. She moved to private practice in Cedar City in 2020 and is excited to be extending evidence based care to Southern Utah.

Dr. Green is passionate about disseminating the latest evidence-based treatments for children, teens and young adults suffering from mental health disorders. Her efforts to disseminate these treatments include sharing information on this website, training doctoral students, providing community presentations, and running a small private practice treating OCD in children, teens and young adults, as well as other anxiety concerns, ADHD and behavior problems in children.

I provide services for the following presenting concerns:

Pediatric Anxiety Disorders including specific phobias, separation anxiety, social anxiety, and selective mutism. Treatment for pediatric anxiety disorders is typically family-based Exposure and Response Prevention (a type of Cognitive Behavior Therapy). Length of treatment varies significantly based on the type and intensity of concerns.

Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder in children, teens and young adults. My primary treatment approach is Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), which is considered the gold standard approach in current literature. Length of treatment varies depending on the intensity and type of presenting concerns.

Behavior Problems in preschool and school-age kids. These concerns may include tantrumming, noncompliance, aggression and/or oppositional behavior. For both preschool and school-age kids, treatment is primarily Parent Management Training, a parent-focused approach with the best evidence support (https://CHADD.org)

ADHD in children and adolescents. I can provide assessment and diagnostic services as well as behavioral interventions when behavior concerns are present.
