Targeted, immersive treatmentsIntensive Outpatient Therapy

Flexible, Faster careWhat is Intensive Outpatient Therapy?
Intensive outpatient therapy (IOP) describes creative, flexible, and more intensive treatment than traditional once-a-week sessions. Research shows many clients show gains per hour of treatment, regardless of whether it is built into intense blocks in a short time frame or smaller blocks once a week.
While IOP can appear more costly up front, the cost for actual therapy time is the same across the whole treatment course but intensive options may result in return to work, lower distress, and/or higher productivity sooner than once-a-week meetings.
At Back in Charge, we are dedicated to the most efficient and accessible care possible. We offer IOP in two different forms:
- Personalized intensive treatment plan for OCD or anxiety symptoms to jumpstart treatment, boost progress quickly, or as the primary treatment approach. Typically scheduled as grouped blocks of treatment time within a brief period (e.g., 4 hr treatment block, 3 days one week).
- BOSS Intensive Outpatient Camps: scheduled camps for children and teens already in therapy for anxiety or OCD concerns.

ERP helps individuals confront their fears in a structured, supportive way by gradually exposing them to anxiety-provoking situations while resisting the urge to engage in compulsive behaviors or avoidance. Through repeated practice, the brain learns that anxiety naturally decreases over time.
Cognitive Restructuring
Cognitive restructuring, or cognitive reframing, involves identifying and challenging negative or irrational thoughts that contribute to anxiety. By recognizing these thoughts and replacing them with more balanced, realistic ones, individuals can change their emotional responses and reduce anxiety.
Grounding Techniques
Mindfulness and grounding techniques focus on staying present in the moment and becoming aware of one’s surroundings and sensations. These techniques are effective in reducing anxiety by bringing attention back to the present and minimizing the impact of distressing thoughts.
